I have been asking this question for years - never have I received an answer that makes sense let alone be seen as adequate in a court of law cos y'all duck down behind scriptural bullshit.

Tell me (and all my girls - Frank Zappa - Mudshark), tell me and all my girls, why was I lucky enough to have been born with intelligence, in affluence, given every opportunity in a xian Kultcha to hear the word of 'god' and the poor native in the New Guinea Highlands (or the native in central Oz or the native born into absolute starvation in Darfur) were given NONE of the same advantages BUT 'god' still expects them to perform as I; 'he' expects us all to come to him willingly no matter what the obstacles and ONLY ONE LIFETIME TO DO IT IN.
My question?
Why was I born so lucky to have had all the opportunities handed to me on a platter?

They can't answer that cos their religion is a sham and their philosophy is sentimental at best and cruelly deficient at worst.
Although interesting answers will be good I just know I’m gonna get some fundie one-liners that make absolutely no sense.

There is just so much about religion that just doesn't make sense. The universe and reality itself make much more sense if chaos is accepted with no higher controlling power and complete randomness instead of controlled destiny.

To be honest, I ask that question frequently. I was born with a family who loves me, intelligence, no disabiliites or deformities but I have a brother who has autism. Why did he get it and not me? My father says "It is God's will and we cannot understand his will". I realize that but I think the question is a good one.
I don't spit in Gods face that I was blessed. I thank him for it constantly but I must wonder, why me or I suppose the question would be "why not me?"
Sometimes the only answers we can give and get seem so inadequate don't they?

God has a has a plan for everyone. Some are born into wealth and these material obstacles truly challenges a being to not be materialistic. To seek more meaning beyond it all is truly divine.

The lessons set forth by God are individually chosen and partitioned out, but all paths diverge to the same place.

--Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?
--And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) repose, and makes the day Nushoor (i.e. getting up and going about here and there for daily work, etc. after ones sleep at night or like resurrection after ones death).
-- And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain), and We send down pure water from the sky

1- Those who disbelieve say: "This (the Quran) is nothing but a lie that he (Muhammad SAW) has invented, and others have helped him at it, so that they have produced an unjust wrong (thing) and a lie."
2- And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."
3- Say: "It (this Quran) has been sent down by Him (Allah) (the Real Lord of the heavens and earth) Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful

And we still spit in God's face with our disrespect?
I was not born with a silver spoon, but I know I have it better than most. And, I am very thankful.
Why was my life better than most? Because of the decisions (free will) of our ancestors.
Just like America is free today because of all of the blood that was shed by our soldiers to make this a free country.
