No passport required for domestic flying so leave it at home if it's expired.

a passport is primarily the document to let you back in the country. As long as your only flying domestic you wont even need a passport, just a picture id.

But note that ANY picture ID that is expired.. is considered invalid and can not be used as a form of ID. (drivers licence, school ID, military ID, passport etc...)

I agree with Grapelady but just want to add: take at least 2 forms of picture ID (not expired, just like she says!) just in case and you should have no problems.

you dont need a passport to fly domaestic you just need a photo id. so dont worry about it.
