What you want to try is MediaCoder. MediaCoder lets your convert almost any file to any file and it's free! It also lets you crop the video, change the dimensions. And say you have Part 1 and Part 2 of a movie. It would let you join them together as one.

xilsoft 3gp video converter is one of the best around but it's not freeware but you should find it on thepiratebay.com complete with a patch save you paying for it.
