I have carpal tunnel syndrome and have to wear a splint at night. If I don't I wake up with numbness in my fingers and pain in my wrist. Since wearing the splint, however, I have developed a rash on my hand. I saw the pharmacist who prescribed a steroid cream but told me I should only use it for a week at a time. Also suggested I wear cotton gloves in case the splint was causing the reaction. I have done all he suggested but still have the rash. Does anyone know of any natural or homeopathic treatment I could try?

I have tried hydrocortisone treatments and it works for a very short time. Thanks to all of you who gave me homeopathic/natural remedies which I asked for. Will be trying these first as modern medicine has failed me.

If you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome along with your Rash you will need the Homeopathic remedy RHUS TOX take it along with ARNICA MONTANA both in 30C or 30X potency for best results take it three times a day half an hour before meals. Let me know about your progress after taking them for atleast three days regularly.

I use any good diaper cream and I also use gold bond medicated powder when I put the diaper back on. The main thing I found though is fresh air. You need to allow fresh air to get to your baby's bottom as often as you can, so when you are at home and can lay her out on a blanket or something that you don't care if it gets wet or soiled then you can put her there with some toys and just let the air dry her skin and help get the rash under control. Good luck.

There are three probable causes of the rash. Hydrocortisone manages only one of them.

I'd of course have to look at it......ask some questions...... etc. before making a recommendation.

Think about what I'm saying before you take the well-intentioned advice of people here who don't know what they are doing. You don't want to make things worse.

Neither of these so called alternative, ( for alternative read bogus) routes will help at all I am afraid. 1% Hydrocortisone the mildest of the steroid creams can be used for longer periods, otherwise the advise from the pharmacist was fine.
