I don't know how this pertains to law enforcement but i don't really know what category it does belong to.

At times i get confused and wonder which one i am doing. When should i keep it real as opposed to representing?

can someone keep it real or represent too much?

How do i know if i have transistioned from keeping it real to representing during a conversation and vice versa?

please help...

I think you should be credible.

Part of being credible, is actually acting/speaking in a credible manner. The whole 'keeping it real' or 'representing' verbiage comes off as very ignorant. I am not insulting you, just letting you know that the use of that slang is not an acceptable way to speak.

If you are credible, then you are doing both but in a more intelligent, credible and mature way. People are more likely to take you seriously.. that's what you want, right?

I wish you well.

Keeping it real is just being yourself. If your like representing too much it may cause problems, but just do you an don't be fake to the game

Just be yourself.

A good rule of thumb to tell if you are transitioning from "keeping it real" to "representing" is asking yourself; "Is this how I would talk to my mother?"

This is because your mother knows you and you can't bullshit her.
