Was he silenced? Mary was left alone so she could back up the whole virgin story? Who wrote about the Nativity? I mean who was there? Mary was the only one who could have told the story. And with no Joseph to set the record straight... Well you get the meaning. Poor guy, how can you hold a candle to the almighty?

What are you talking about?

First of all, it wasn't Mary OR Joseph who wrote about the nativity - Matthew and Luke John did. How did they know about it? Probably because Jesus told them, which means that Mary and/or Joseph probably told him.

Joseph lived, was a carpenter, got married to a lady who supposedly gave birth to the messiah without having sex with anyone, then went on to have a bunch of other kids with her. Then he died.

What exactly is the controversy regarding Joseph? According to the bible, Joseph was cool with everything.

Joseph was basically out of the picture after the Nativity. Nonetheless, he was made a saint. Keep in mind, other children were born afterwards. They are acknowledged as having been sired by Joseph.

And you think that the shepherds kept the events of that night to themselves? After witnessing a choir of angels singing that our Savior was born that night, and seeing the child for themselves, it would of been beyond human comprehension that they didn't say anything about it. Who do you think taught Jesus the art of carpentry?
Why are you always trying to come up with silly questions that can easily reasoned out by reading the book.
Study out St. Luke chapter 2..

In Islam, Joseph was never married to Mary and never a father figure to Jesus.

In theory, his disappearence, fits their version of the life of Christ. If Jesus' earthly fathered passed on or abondonded him, why is this important part of Jesus' life left out?
