I say go for it-being in a 'comfort zone' doesn't help you make any money. I'll bet after your first couple of weeks of learning your new job you will be happy you switched. The housing market may be a little tough right now but it will bounce back.

The answer is to not stay at a job where you are not making any money.

You will be better off at a job where you are guaranteed at least some income.

Try the new job. If the new job does not pan out you will be able to leave and if you wanted to return to selling cars.

Give your present boss adequate notice and leave on good terms. if necessary and you must start on the tenth you should go back to the car dealership on a part time basis for a short period of time.

Good luck on whatever your final decision will be.

If you're good at selling cars why not move to a different dealership where you'll have more success? I think you're right about the mortgage business, not a good place to be these days.

You are the best judge, do, as you think proper.
