The point is to learn photography fast

if you goto school 35 hours a week, study 20 hours on top of that for a few months to a few years you will tend to learn faster with "teachers" teaching you than by your own hit and miss

what does it do? well if you study and learn with passion it teaches you to make professional images anytime, anywhere, build a client base and a reputation for quality everytime and then charge big numbers by the hour and be worth it

just my angle on it, theres lots of self taugh to im not a genius so i did TV School - camera operator - fo a year, after fotog school for two years

Well, among the basics are the effect of light sources coming from various directions and how they combine and the effects of various lens openings and how that affects the depth of field and how you control it. Shutter speed allows you to get crisp or blurred fast motion and the limits of hand-held camera use. What happens with film when you push the film or take an extended time picture to the point you have color failures.
With advanced classes what happens with macro and telescopic lenses. What a bellows camera allows you to do that a fixed axis lenses does not.
And finally, of course, composing your images in the viewfinder for artistic arrangement and cropping and printing the images afterward.
History of photography and examining the changes in techniques and some of their advantages down through the years.

It is really recomended. It will also herp you understand the art of it. I hope that helped:).

You're right. There is no point! I'm quitting that class right now. It's all been done before. Cooking class is on the list now too! I'm going to quit breathing too. I just don't see the point anymore. Thank you for saving me from needless expense and heartache.
