Not to get high, but in some places like the philippines, thailand and indonesia people use dried up leaves to wrap tobacco made from local trees to smoke. The banana leaves are convenient because there are so many of them and they make for good natural rolling paper.

In theory, you could smoke just about anything, providing it was properly prepared first. Chalk on the chalkboard, clay or even ice cubes! Don't know their effects on the human body, but you should be already aware of the risks when you light up.

It is completely FALSE, there are no chemicals in a banana skin that can get you "high". This is just one of those myths that resurface every 10 or 20 years.

This came out in the 60's. I don't know about the origin, but the song ("Mellow Yellow") came out after the myth started.

I must say that that is MYTH!!! There is no proof that there is ANYTHING in bananas to help you get high. It is just some urban myth, which resurfaces from time to time.

No - that's an urban myth more than 30 years old. Smoking them will make you feel sick though.

No it's not true (tried it 20 odd years ago when I was 17). Looks like times haven't changed that much.

I wouldn't of thought so however, I've not tried it and I'd really rather not. If your that "bored" why don't you go into your kitchen and cook up a REAL dream?

I have heard of this too. I imagine you have to dry the skins out first, then crumble them up into dust.
