For the pass couple of days, I been reading the bible and I don't know why. I'm not a religious person and I don't attend church because I was not exposed to it when I was younger; I'm now 26yrs old. I was looking for something to read while I was in the washroom and I grab a book that look like a novel from the outside. When I begun to open up the book, it was a bible for jail inmates. Every since then, I been reading the bible(beginning from the first page) every night now.

Just make sure you read it with objectivity and skepticism, and also remember all the atrocious acts you read in it. It's not uncommon for non christians to read the bible, it gives them more of a knowledge base of what christian delusion is based on..

I would think it means nothing other than you are reading a book...like when I got the urge to read Lord of the Rings for the millionth time...does that mean Sauron the Dark Lord is drawing me to him, trying to pry out my soul? Or Gandalf trying to recruit me into the Fellowship? No...I just got hooked when I first read it...same thing with the Bible for you...you got hooked on the book, so you're gonna read more of it naturally. As for the church thing...it's not all that great, you just hear a lot of people talkin' about that book you're reading, and then get up in a line and eat some flat bread and wine...after that you go home. Nothin' to it and when I stopped going, I wasn't all that sad or anything, I'm actually happier now that I don't have to go to church at all! So don't worry 'bout it...you're just doing what millions of others are doing, reading a book that you got hooked on. And if you want to attach some superstitious dogma to it, then I guess it means that God is calling to you....or something.....either way hope I helped some.

The Lord is calling you to Him. These are the latter days and His Spirit is doing remarkable things in this earth.

You've picked up the greatest book ever written. The Word of the Lord will change your life. It certainly changed mine.

A Bible made to accomodate jail inmates? So they are probably reading yet another version of the Bible that would satisfy their needs instead what is really true. There are plenty of Christians in jails/prisons, so perhaps they are trying to save these criminals as well. I wonder what the "Bible for jail inmates" says about sodomy and homosexuality...hmmmmmmm.....

God is speaking to your heart! He wants to reveal Himself to you through His Word. If you have a question, keep reading. The answers are in the Book. The Gospel of John is a fantastic read to some wonderful insight. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you in your endeavour.

It is an important book. Most people who criticise it haven't read it, not beyond the few chapters prominently featured on atheist websites.

Everyone who wishes to debate it should read the bible regardless of their attitude towards it. But nowadays you don't have to be informed on a subject to have an opinion.
