My sperm count is very good, but my mortility rate is low. I have been diagnosed with vericocele. Hence if I go through the Vericocele surgery, will there be negative complications in the near future? After the day of the surgery will I encounter severe pain?

It's a pretty minor procedure, with limited post op pain. You do have to use ice to reduce swelling for a day or so post op and wear supportive underwear/devices for a while after surgery.

There are non invasive measures...some as easy as wearing a jock strap, or switching to briefs if you wear boxers. There is also an interventional radiology procedure called embolization. It is not quite as effective as surgery, but it is noninvasive, and the recovery period is shorter.

Good link with easy to understand language about both procedures here:

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Varicose veins in scrotum increase the temperature of testes. This causes reduced motility of sperms. Removal of varicocele restores both sperm count and motility. It is a safe surgical procedure .No post operative pain. Wish you an ISSUE soon.
