Anyone remember the Burgundy Cobbler and The Sands nightclubs in Whitley Bay? Aaaah Happy days!

I spent many a happy childhood day at the Spanish City too. The clubs were both close to the City.

It was a Burger with Onions from one of the hand carts that were on the street when the clubs closed!! I don't think anyone got food poisoning but don't know how!! Those Burgers were so tasty!
Bring back the handcart Burgers!!!!!

I remember when the Skins ruled the Royal, nearly got thrown over the balcony by Head Skin. Only went there a couple of times.
Sorry I don't remember the bar Duran Duran owned.

Hi I take it you frequented them both in the 70s.
Only went to the sands once.
Went to the cobbler every Saturday in the early seventies.
If you go to the cobbler building you'll find it is now a pub. The decor on the ground floor is the same as it was then.
They play some great music.

You still got your platforms my brother stole mine

don't remember the burgundy cobbler only went to the sands a couple of times then it shut down burgundy cobbler is that now easy street went there for the 1st time in 1988 when i used to sell crab sticks and prawns out the basket (still got the same carpet down now) only pub in Whitley that has not been done out that's when Whitley had plenty of night clubs to chose from remember the royal what dive but it was great crack had some good nights in there now iam waiting outside the clubs picking up the drunks in my taxi/// bring me sun shine how do expect people to answer your question when u dont allow e mails by the way it was called rio but it now called aruba and was called cruize b4 that at the bottom of south parade opp 42nd street

Spanish city is being demolished, but I hope they are keeping the dome.
What was the name of the bar that guy from Duran Duran used to own in Whitley Bay? I was looking for it the other week...

oftentimes it comes up whilst human beings at right here say that ladies persons have not invented something. Admittedly, the windscreen wiper is in basic terms a minor invention, besides the undeniable fact that this is jolly useful each and all the comparable. the comparable must be reported of disposable nappies (diapers) that are my own universal invention via a woman. A boon to everyone with slightly one.

Remember Sands. Above the bus station or post office wasn't it? They let everyone in whatever your age. Some happy times there.

Sorry, worked in Whitley bay many years ago, I think that it was closed for maintenance, you could see tumbleweed blowing through the streets.
