I mean that I'm working in a stable, in Finland and I'd like to visit Australia. Will the custom agents quarantine me & my whole luggage in case I carry horse diseases??

It doesn't matter where you come from. On the quarantine declaration form is a question about working or being on farms/stables etc. If you tick that box you will be required to show all your shoes to the quarantine officers who will decide if they should be disinfected or not. They are usually pleasant and helpful and will not delay you longer than necessary. They probably won't bother about the rest of your clothes or luggage. Have a great trip to Australia, you'll love it.

As an Australian and understanding that Equine flu is of concern currently in my country, I totally undertsand your question.

I would suggest that you contact the Australian Embassy in your country to make enquiries about precautions that are needed in this regard.

I visited the UK during the "mad cow disease" outbreak and the only requirement on return to Australia was that any shoes I wore were fumigated when I returned. Customs did this at no charge to me and it only delayed my departure from the airport by about 15 minutes.

Good luck!

If you have four hoofed legs, and tail, eat oats from a bucket and expect to be serviced with something the size of baby's arm then possibly, otherwise unless your occupation is stamped on your passport It will never come up. It's more a question put to you by a prospective employer regarding your past experience should you seek work in a similar industry.

There are serious crack downs on the equine industry at the moment and the quarrantine stables in nsw are thought to be the source of the outbreak of equine flu because they weren't strict enough, so expect to be thoroughly checked out.
