It's true that we're supposed to pray for our enemies. That's in Matthew 5. Perhaps later, it does say that God will avenge us.

Not a curse, but so that they might be convicted and touched.

Matthew 5:44

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,

i belive you are thinking of this text:

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.
Proverbs 25:21-22

this is saying that in doing this you might try and turn your enemy for good.

because if someone does good for you even though you don't like them and you still treat them with contempt then you are in the wrong and they are in the right. metaphorically speaking they have heaped burning coals on your head.

Hi there.God made everyone. God is within everyone God loves everyone. We have to emulate God as best as we can,so by loving our enemies we automatically love God. We cannot love God and not love our enemies. If we do then we are not loving God.
