"Peaches and cream" can refer to many things, years ago it was used to describe a wholesome/healthy female complexion.....creamy white skin with just a hint of pink in the cheeks. In years gone by, only the wealthy could afford to avoid working and exposed to sunlight, and therefore it was something that women wanted to duplicate.
Then there is peaches and cream corn.....a very sweet variety of corn, with both white and yellow kernels.
There is also a very simply but yummy dessert of sliced fresh peaches with cream drizzled over them.
In most cases the cream referred to is the high fat content milk that rises to the top when fresh milk is put into a "separator" this liquid is used to make whipping cream and anything with a fat content of 4% or more.

I don't think I'd want my complexion compared to clotted cream or sour anything.
I'd like to think of it as a peach with a layer of sweet cream drizzled over it so the warm tones of peach come through the creamy tones of the cream.

Single, whipped, double - matters not. The idea is that the texture is silky smooth with no inperfections- like complexions!
