Any type of vision loss (e.g. blindness, blurred vision, double vision, etc.) is a symptom of great concern. Many of the causes are very serious medical conditions. Certain types of vision changes can be a medical emergency where delay can lead to loss of sight (e.g. for causes such as glaucoma, eye injury, retinal detachment) or loss of life (e.g. for causes such as stroke, TIA, etc.). Even transient or temporary blindness or loss of vision cannot be ignored because it can result from serious conditions such as stroke, TIA, hypertension, epilepsy, or migraine. Seek immediate professional medical attention for any such symptoms of vision changes.

Glaucoma does exhibit blurred vision , foggy vision, halos around objects, dim peripheral vision, halos around bright lights.

Okay, let's review the symptoms of Glaucoma:; do you have esp the halos around bright lights. My mom complained of terrific pains like "needles in her eyes

An opthalmologist or optometrist can perform this tonometry test- which measures the intraocular pressure of the aqueous humor in the front of the eye. Generally, this fluid builds up, causing elevated intraocular pressure which is the main factor that leads to glaucomatous damages of the optic nerve(main seeing nerve) ) of the eye. .

Glaucoma is characterized by a particular pattern of progressive damage to the optic nerve that generally begins with a subtle loss of side vision (peripheral vision). If glaucoma is not diagnosed and treated, it can progress to loss of central vision and blindness

From your hx; you complained of insidous fading peripheral vision without any other symptoms.

The major risk factors include:

Age over 45 years
Family history of glaucoma
Black racial ancestry
Diabetes
History of elevated intraocular pressure
Nearsightedness (high degree of myopia), which is the inability to see distant objects clearly
History of injury to the eye
Use of cortisone (steroids), either in the eye or systemically (orally or injected)
Farsightedness (hyperopia), which is seeing distant objects better than close ones (Farsighted people may have narrow filtering angles, which predispose them to acute (sudden) attacks of closed-angle glaucoma

So at 16, you're too young to have glaucoma; unless you 're born with it (congenital); sustained some eye injury. or has any of the above risk factors.

These are the symptoms of angle- closure glaucoma:attacks-May also experience nausea ; blurred vision, pain around the eyes, and halos around light .

Take note that Vit A is good for the eyesight. Carrots are good for improving vision due to its beta-carotene properties.
