I know that certain European and American politicians are a big fan of our current "mild Islamic" government.
What they don't understand is, this government is likable for them only because they are operating under a secular system, which is protected by the public and this nation's army... MY army.
After the collapse of "mild Islam", first in Pakistan, then in Malaysia (they abondened lacism and accepted the Sharia law just recently), why do they keep praising how Islamic and how democratic AKP is?
When will they understand? Islam is a peaceful religion only when Muslims are ruled by a modern constitution, not a Sharia law?

there will never be shia law in Turkey AKP will be gone soon enough
the Turks are mild Muslims . and have a sense of taste for freedom. ask any Turkish woman . the men might see it differently but its to late for them now.
it worries me that Turkey could be dragged back to the stone age through shia law and pressure from the east but I am still feeling optimistic despite the "Green money" (five Billion dollars a year) coming from Saudi to invest in purely Islamic businesses in East Turkey. the money is ceating new jobs but also providing AKP with new voters.

They don't care.
Turkey is not at the top of the problem list, if the gov goes straight to the Camii then the US and EU know the Turkish army will step in and the AKP knows this too so they are not going to cross the line.
Does this mean everything is OK? No, I don't need to tell you, your eyes are open wide, This means that it is all happening on the undercurrent, just like before the AKP became acceptable (they used to change their name and get outlawed or do I remember wrong) all the deals are made, money is pumped to certain interests, and ideas are being promoted behind closed doors. Things are being set up so that when everyone is sufficiently brainwashed and the right people are powerful they can show their hand (as in poker, not ottoman slap) and make their intentions known. In the meantime they will give you a good economy, and great infrastructure to appease those of you who would normally protest. I sound like a conspiracy theory madman but I this is my prediction.

The fans that you mentioned above would like to win more money, more power. The name Mild islam is used only to influence uneducated people but the real meaning is "i don't care about religion i want to hide my bad actions behind the name of the religion so that nobody will understand my real aim"
A secular democracy will always be the best system. Religion should stay spiritual, it shouldn't be used by the politicians to get vote.

why are we defining a religion by country? no one says Mild Christianity in reference to the states. And yes i know the states has other religions, but our system is built on Christianity. just like how some of these "Mild Islam" states actually have had Christian monasteries for 100+ years.
No I'm not Muslim, but I've been to Iraq twice, and just tired of our stupidity.

I understand completely. You can never mix politics with religion. Absolutely never.
There is no fine line to walk in between the two. The "mild" consensus will eventually increase in degree if you allow the it to fester. Once you give a hand, they eventually would want the arm, then...

Dear friends, please read "Akıl Oyunları" written by Erol Mütercimler. After reading it, you'll probably say "If Tayyip Erdoğan is Muslim, then I'm Mickey Mouse!". A real Muslim person is honest and don't lie!!

When "certain european and american politicians" talk about mild islamic goverment they mean an islamic goverment that will follow their policy, that's the "mild islam".
The "normal" islam wants to take over europe and the world according to your muslim preachers. Islam is a religion of hate, it will always be like that and because of your fanatism you will fail to understand it.
