A couple of techniques can be used.
1. The standard waterproof tile adhesive will work. If the
wood is smooth score the surface first.
2. Paint the wood with pva adhesive it gives a better
bond.
3.Use silicone adhesive sealant in small areas, you may
have reservations about this but it does work.

Whatever you use it has to be flexible because the wood will expand and contract in the damp atmosphere. Try a contact adhesive.

apply a coat of pva to wood then just use tile adhesive.

silicone from the tube does it every time for me but the wood must be dry ..to grout it you must use flexible grout ..trust me there really is a product ..you can buy it and add to normal grout
