No No No! That place is a flea bag, flop house. There are more dangerous areas, but I don't think I would want to be pretty & living in that area, that could be a recipe for disaster. Listen to the other posters about acting classes. Hollywood grinds up s & spits them out. I don't hate L.A. either, I love it, so it's not just bias you're hearing from me. Be careful.

Hmmm, let's see. W Century Blvd has strip clubs, muggers, druggies, and unbearable jet noise. I guess someone, somewhere, would consider that "safe", but I've never met that person!
Hostels have limits on the number of days one can stay; you can't live in one indefinitely.
If you can only afford $15 a day for lodging, you will end up either homeless or on skid row in a heartbeat. LA is one of the most expensive cities on the planet.
You sound incredibly naive and unrealistic. Go to college instead.

Absolutely DO NOT stay in a hostel on Century Bl. Its dangerous place. Lots of drug addicts. Hollywood offers alot of Hostels that are much safer. If you are flying in to LAX go to the Travelers Aid booth close to the baggage claim area. Every terminal has one. They have a book full of hostels. I send young people there all the time. (I work at LAX). I think the one on Century you might be referring to is called the Adventure. While the hostel might be OK, it is in an awful neighborhood.

This idea just has the bad idea red flag all over it...Hardly anyone seeks out to live on Century Blvd, East or West. No I would not call it a safe street. Listen to these folks answering above here, they know what they are talking about....

Please listen to "Cope's" advice. There are a hundred young girls a day coming to Los Angeles with stars in their eyes hoping "to become an actress". Only one in a million actually make in into the big time. You will just be one more face in the crowd. You need experience, training, and talent. You will be competing with hundreds of out-of-work actresses for every part.
Stay where you are now, go to college and get a degree and a marketable skill that will allow you to support yourself. Then, and ONLY then, if you still want to try acting go to auditions and casting calls.
All those young girls who come here believing they will instantly become the next rich "A" lister eventually become waitresses or receptionists, or worse yet go into prostitution / pornography when their money runs out and reality slaps them in the face.

You didn't say where but I have a good idea. Safe? I wouldn't characterize that area as safe. It's not the worst but far from the best. Have you tried finding potential roommates on the social networking sites? People with a similar goal?

The fastest way to become a famous star is to stay in school and taking acting classes. That is how Carole Burnett did it.
