I think if they are under 10 the parents should be made accountable. After all they shouldn't really be left running around without a watchful eye at that age.
Perhaps if the parent thought they were going to face prosecution they might take their responsibilities more seriously.
The children should not go without some punishment, but the onus should be placed at the parents feet too.

Children should not be prosecuted...
because the objective of any criminal law made must be to stop the crime.and in case of children, especially to stop the cause of these crimes.Children below 10 years of age are in no way to differentiate between right and wrong. Its the present social conditions that make them do these crimes. So what needs to be rectified is the the social conditions prevailing.this is indeed a longterm approach..As a short term approach to these matters, juvenile homes can be set up and even a psychological approach can be used to rectify the mindset of these children.
every generation designs and is a role model for the next..So lets not blame the children alone for all these..Take it as the responsibility of each and every citizen to build to healthy society!!

Criminal get younger every day. They know damn what they are doing. Children of 10 or under should be taken into care and very strictly supervised. They should also be looked after in a way they probably are not at home. Violent children over over 10should be treated as adults.
Children are maturing physically much younger than they were even 30 years ago. If they are old enough to rape and kill they are old enough to be locked up for a long time. These brutes are nothing like what used to be called 'juvenile delinquents. It might be a good idea to bang their parents up with them.

The solution is to remove the obstructions, put in place by the PC Brigade, to educating children in the difference between right and wrong. There was a proven effective method for doing this for centuries prior to the PCBs involvement.
We should, as a society and until those obstructions are removed, hold those who put them in place responsible for every single crime committed and either jail or sue whoever signed the original proposal and ratified the law in each case.

make a new law, whatever the child does under the age of ten charge them with the crime and charge the parents with the same crime.
Or charge the parents with conspiracy to allow the children to commit the offence they have committed, IF THEY ARE FOUND GUILTY 200 hours mandatory community service, serving the community in which they live

These kids are NOT "rampaging around our streets". The crimes thay commit are usually very minor, they need social help and guidance (as do thier parents).
If a ten year old around here damages something.... it's not mailce it's because they've been lead on by older kids, or thier parents are not looking after them and are not teaching them the difference between right and wrong.
I unashamedly blame the parents, and the mass media for almost all antisocial behaviour in modern society.

here is exactly what i would do with a case where a ten yr old shot somebody. I would arrest all those directly responsable for corrupting the hearts and minds of the british, the rich money makers of video games that affect the mind the judges that lgalise them, so that they can laugh all the way to the bank and put then behind bars and wipe the smile of their faces, remove from public view all negative things, and replace with the positive, demoralising the people is big businessand its old business, its got to start there no ten year old should face jail alone without his accomplises.

yes they should be prosecuted, i think it is wrong to say a child under 10 does not know right from wrong, if you catch a child young, and try to break the cycle of crime and teach them that what they are doing is not going to give them a good life, then we might get somewhere. The only other solution is...have you seen the film Battle Royale....think on

Yes i do as children need to learn by example ...
Many children know the laws inside and out and know they are untouchable
If they were caught young then there is a chance to change that behaviour and hopefully curb any more criminal behaviours ..
That way more children would be brought to the attention of the authorities and may benefit from intervention from social services and so on
