when i watch a single clip, it's fine, but when i try to watch a sting of clips in a row, it's lags like crazy. I took the clips with fraps, but with no sound and i really don't think fraps has much to do with it. I have about 700 ram in the comp.

USE VLC media player for better playback..
If the videos are cmpressed using codec, u need a better n faster processor n also RAM for the smoother playback of video..If u can afford a graphics card, that too wil help the cause..

Your computer has to calculate AND remember all the cuts and pieces you have made. It if flipping back and forth. The more cuts you make the more power it will demand.

Lag is inevitable with a normal PC.

Try limiting the cuts to manageable scenes and store the scenes separately. When all scenes are done you can paste them all together and you have worked around lag.

Probabally need atleast 1GB of RAM and a better Video Card.
