I have an older 420 DLP TV that I bought when they just come to the market but now 720 and 1080i are quite bite better. I really don't want to invest more money in a new TV if I can upgrade it to a better resolution. I know that technology is based in a simple chip that make the picture and project it in the screen. But here is the question, Is that upgrade possible??

You have a mirror system that has 420 lines. There is no way to get 720 from that. And other parts of the electronics probably can't operate at twice the speed - like you can't overdrive a processor 2x
