*To the person above me, your answer has been discredited.
Why are you talking about Taiwan, Japan and calling Xinjiang - East Turkestan ? East Turkestan - I can completely discredit your entire answer just because you mentioned this name. That region have had Chinese influences even before the Uyghurs first arrived.
Only Chinese are playing WW2 for political reasons, that is highly irresponsible on your part to say that, who are you to speak for us ? :
Japan is not a threat to you but Japan HAD been a threat to Chinese civilization, which almost led to genocide. So Japan had been a real threat to us. You can't speak for us because you are not us.
Any nation who did not become tributaries states were under threats of being conquered? uhh wait, the Head Lama at the time "chose" to become a tributary out of gaining a better relationship and political advantage for Tibet from the Qing courts, not cus they were on the verge of being conquerered. Tributary states are different from colonies. The central court had to provide protection & service to the states for the tributes whereas colonies are for being exploited.
China occupied Korea? But did you mentioned that Joseon Dynasty(Korea) were allies with the Ming Dynasty fighting the same enemies the Jurgens(ancestors of Manchus) but refused to acknowledge the later Qing Dynasty Courts because the Koreans didn't consider them to be legitimately Chinese, they were Manchu's. Same reason why Koreans stayed behind to helped the Chinese fight the Japanese during the ww2, it's the same reason, because they didn't acknowlege "foreigner's" occupation. manchu's = foreign, japanese= foreign. Since you're talking about that time, did you also mentioned that Japan annexed the Ryuku Kingdom (now Okinawa) by force from China against the will of the Ryuku courts ?
Since the WW2, China have attacked Korea? WHEN ? are you telling half of the story again? Go read up korean war and know the truth, my grandpa fought in that war. Also, when did china attacked Russia after ww2 ? DON'T MAKE UP SHITT !
Chinese don't like "anti-chinese foreign drones" telling Chinese to not be afraid of Japan, this is "genetic memory" i don't know how they offically call the scientific term, but it's like ghost memories that clones down the generation. You ask me if Japan's regroup their millitary power one day, am i gonna be afraid? "oh yes, very afraid."
Because history have shown it before. But China have never attacked Japan for 3 millenium's time. Didn't Japan borrowed and learnt alot from the Chinese and turned around and attacked us? Do you see the Koreans do that? They stayed behind in ww2 to help the Chinese fight the Japanese cus they didn't forget about the backbone of their culture.
Taiwan belongs to Chinese people. It's a Fact. Other countries shouldn't have been interferring with Taiwan issue in the first place, that's internal affair.
I think one of the only neighboring country that China have to treat better is Vietnam, you're right we've been constantly waging war on Vietnam for the past 1000 years. That's why I treat the Vietnamese very good.

Wow, it's quite obvious who the Chinese are on this forum. Japan is dangerous? China has no history of colonizing or attacking???? WTF?
First, Japan doesn't even have a real military and depends on the US for it's protection. It's written into their consitution. Yes, the US and others have been encouraging Japan to change this characteristic, but Japan has been a very responsible nation for over 60 years now, is tied for the lowest crime rate and has one of the highest favorablity ratings in the world. Other than China and Korea who still play off WWII fears for political reasons, most people would think it a joke to call Japan dangerous. Those other asian countries that it attacked two generations ago are actually encouraging a strong Japanese presense to counter China.
Now, why would they be warry of China if it has never colonized anyone? Well, technically this is true. China never colonized. It either conquered foreign lands or forced them to pay tribute on threat of being conquered. (You don't think China was always so large.) Just ask anyone from Vietnam, Tibet, Mongolia, East Turkistan, or Korea. Vietnam was occupied by China for 1000 years, Korea was a Chinese vassal state until Japan took it over. Yes, that's right, before Japan occupied Korea, China controlled Korea. It wasn't independent. Since WWII China has attacked Korea, Tibet (it was independent at the time. Not recognized by the UN, but neither was the PRC at the time), India, Russia, Vietnam (for invading Cambodia's Kmer Regime that killed 1/3 of Cambodia's population, but was China's friend). It would also try to force its new style of "communist" government in all nations of south east asia just as the Soviet Union was doing in Africa.
Is it a dangerous neighbor? Yes. It has over 1000 missiles pointed directly at Taiwan, has threatened force against Japan several times over territorial disputes. (China has already ended a similar dispute with the Phillipenes by the use of force), but india is probably the most likely flash point.
Both India's and China's main rivers begin in the Himalayas on the Tibetan side. And both countries are running out of water....clean water.... to feed their growing economies. China has already threatened to divert water that runs to India so that it drains on the Chinese side instead. China's water reserves are already 70% polluted and desperately wants more water. It's only a matter of time. Besides, China's been beefing up it's military retoric, has threatened the US with a nuclear strike twice in the past 7 years, threatened Vietnam and Indonesia over islands, brought subs to spy on Japanese and American ships........
Their technology may be subpar and couldn't possibly compete, but the nation has been being inculcated for years about their "strength" and eventual "return" as a superpower. Are they dangerous??? Damned right

Personally I think China and Taiwan are different country because the political systems are different. (But I know this matter should be decided by Chinese and Taiwanese.)
How about Tibet?
Do Chinese believe the invasion to Tibet was a right thing?
It was really shocking for me when I watched a video on youtube, which was Chinese solders were shooting Tibet monks like computer game...
Also there is an issue at the border between Vietnam and China too.
And I don't think it was not necessary to practice to shoot down the space satellite.
So, in my point of view, Chinese government looks aggressive about expanding their territory.
I know Japanese (my ancestors) killed a lot of Chinese during WWII.
But current young generation in Japan have learned that was a really bad thing and believe that kind of thing should not happen any more. So that I have a lot of confidence Japanese will not invade to any countries any more (well, at least for a few centuries)
I have Chinese and Taiwanese friends and they are very nice and peaceful people, so I really wish Chinese government show us more peaceful attitude, as China would be the most important country in this century.

With the exception of Taiwan, China is not dangerous (if you meant military sense) to India and Japan.
China has never been known to colonize, occupy, or invade any country, historically proven, as compared to the western nations of the UK, Spain, France, Germany, etc etc.
With regard to Taiwan, the political sensivity issues with China is another matter altogether, which is historically an internal issue that was made complicated through the self-involvement by the US.

Taiwan belongs to China. This is an unchangeable fact.
Japanese invaded China and killed hundreds of thousands of Chinese people. This is peaceful?
India is moving too close to the US - could be a dangerous trend.
The world has nothing to fear about China. Only the aggressor countries worry about China.
