Hopefully you guys can help me out. I am currently in college on my freshman year majoring in electrical engineering, but I'm not sure if I should be majoring in that. I would like to work with electronic gadgets from mp3 players, handhelds consoles, pdas, tvs, game consoles to computers. I'm more of a hardware guy. I like to tinker around with stuff and also building it. I simply love and want to be on the latest on technology.

Unfortunately, freshman year is a general education year (math, science, etc.) with probably little hands-on experience on electronics. But hang-in there and in future years you should have more experience with practicing what you love.
These days, electronics is as much software (if not more) as hardware, so pay attention to both.
