I like the Saint Bernards. I can't stand the really tiny, worthless lap dogs. I have a boston terrier and that's the smallest I'll go. I really love saint bernards. they have great personalities and temperment, they're good with kids and other animals, and very sturdy!

Could you make this question a little more diverse. Gee they are so similar. I would pick the St Bernard. I have had large dogs and they have very different personalities than the smaller dogs. They are very sure of themselves and they don't get so wound up over little things.

Cardigan Welsh Corgis. They're cute and somewhat comical looking and if I got one I could train and compete in their traditional work (herding). They're also very specialized for their task of driving cattle. (Saints are specialized, too, though.)

Saints, because they are larger. I always default to the bigger dog, but in this case when I was a child we only got to have two dogs, one we inherited from my grandfather and were allowed to keep only for that reason and one that my mother got nagged into getting and it was a Saint.
