I just need to know if Trader Joes is cheaper when it compares to Safeway for
a. non organic foods
b. for organic foods.
Not sure if this varies from city to city - but I am interested in the Bay Area comparisons (San Jose, CA to be specific)

1st of all the dont sell the same stuff, most of trader joes stuff is only sold at tjs....and secondly trader joes is way more expensive...third organic food is a waste of money and in some cases is almost the exact same as the non organic counterpart

Trader Joe's might be more money, but the quallity is better. Safeway was voted as one of thw worst supermarkets to shop at. Don't get me wrong, i love thier fries, but Trader Joes has more locally produced items and specialty items oh and who can resist $2 Buck Chuck?!?!?!

I think trader joe's is more expensive for everything when compared to Safeway. I really only shop there for their "prepared foods" because they are unique and only sold there. If I am doing normal grocery shopping for veggies and fruit, I either go to local farmer's market or safeway or raley's.

I think TJ's is limited. Once in awhile I may stop there, but I'd rather shop Safeway and take advantage of their member club pricing. (Walnut Creek Area)

trader joes has special things that are hard to find and yes they are spendy watch those organic items some of it is a trick to get you to spend more money on things
