how to get a higher altitude cake? and also can someone give some really helpful tips on baking cakes and cookies?

It's for people baking in areas that are considered to be at high altitude (5000 ft. above sea level). Denver, CO is a high altitude area. Think about Mile High Stadium in Denver. Because the oxygen level is different that high, it affects breathing and baking. The back of the box shows that cook how to adjust their recipe for good results.

In higher altitudes the air pressure and humidity is different. When you bake at that altitude sometimes things come out harder and dry, or just different than intended. So therefore they change the recipe a little for you to fix that.
