Even if you are retired, or a family member of someone in the armed forces, what is the dream of Soldiers for their country?

I would love to see the average american citizen respect servicemembers. i go on leave to my home state where there isnt an active duty post, and i tell people i am in the army and they think of me as lower class scum because of my patriotic and family related tattoo's. I guess to sum that up, for everyone to treat each other with respect. kinda fruity huh lol

My dream of course is that not even one more American should have to die in war, ever again. but unfortunately, war is inevitable. Mankind is a warring creature and has been since biblical times. And always will be. Even futuristic movies and television show war as continuing into our future. And it will. We will simply develop more sophisticated ways of killing one another. My most fervent hope is that we will develop the technologies need to preserve the lives of our troops and our peoples. One day, when Jesus returns, there will be one final battle. Then, and only then, will peace prevail

To have politicians, who most have never served or been where most of us have been, not be making the decisions about how we fight a war. We have Generals that have been in for over 30 years and now how to do the military side but we get Senators that have no idea how to fight a war but use it as a way to get votes.

My dream is to not have to fight wars anymore, but that isn't going to happen. I also don't want it to. If there were ever a time when we felt war was an impossibility, the military would be all but abolished, and then we'd be dead when the attacks came.

We will always need a military force, so my dream is for our troops to train the entire time of their enlistment, and never have to implement their training!!
