Now, don't get me wrong, there's a lot of mud-slinging and bigotry and intolerance from both camps here, atheist and theist. But it's some of the Christian questions here that often stand out for me: picking on homosexuals and Muslims and atheists with name-calling, insults and other derogatory, juvenile remarks.
Remember, I'm NOT saying that the atheists or other religious participants are any better. And of course I am NOT by any stretch of the imagination saying that all Christians' questions are like this: far from it. But for that small, bitter minority: you call yourselves Christians. You're supposed to follow Christ's example. When you ask a sarcastic, derogatory question of your fellow men and women, do you stop to think of whether your Savior would be proud?

I think some people are missing the point of the question...I'm not trying to imply that Jesus would ridicule anybody; rather, I'm trying to make a point that some Christians might do well to apply the question "What would Jesus do?" to their own questions here--that is, NOT ridicule.

I make it a rule to try not to ridicule others, but we're all human and when someone attacks something so close to your heart as your faith, you're quick to use less than savory tactics.
But it should be noted that Jesus wasn't above ridiculing his opponents. He called the Pharisees "a brood of vipers" and made fun of them by saying that they travel to the farthest reaches of the world to find a convert only to make them as much a son of satan as themselves... or something like that.
But Jesus didn't too much ridicule outsiders. I just think the best advice is what you say: Just stop and think about something before you say it and would Jesus be proud.

The Lord would never ridicule at another's expense. He cannot sin.
He does become angry however when His precepts and commandments are not followed. An example of his wrath is the clearing of the temple of the money changers.
Its not just the picking on Muslims, gays or atheists. Christians or those who believe themselves to be Christian eat their young for breakfast. We fight among the different branches of Christianity and of course everyone is right.
I'm not being judgmental, only making an observation about our wounded human nature.
Perhaps, if we remembered that the Lord is standing right next to us at all times, we would curb our actions somewhat. Ask for His guidance before we post and thank Him afterward.
For those who don't believe, think before you post rather than lashing out.
You do realize what is going on in the world today...is going on right here on a much smaller scale, don't you?
In Charity,

I don't think Jesus would ridicule anyone. Jesus was a supremely talented and charismatic man. He would create an atmosphere of common sense understanding. Name calling and insults were not Jesus' style. Those who refused to be open minded were often those who plain and simple hated him most, and reaped the reward of hate.

Sweet Pea you have a very valid point. That is why we as Christians should no judge because we don't have the right to. You would be surprised if you opened up alot of peoples closet and see what they are hiding. I believe in loving every person dispite of who they are and what they believe. God Bless!

He would not, but some folks get off on the wrong foot and turn a good calling and let their ego do the talking making them worse than the folks they crucify!

He may have been just sane enough to ridicule all of the gullible sheep who he suckered into thinking he was a god.

I think Jesus would ridicule our American way of life, with its commercialism, materialism, and selfishness. But no, none of the people.....
