herbs and spices usually tend to add flavour to dishes and hence raise the appetite.
if you don't feel like eating (too much), you can either add products with high fiber and / or starch content (search google) to fill your belly and give your instestines some work to do. (you still need energy after all...)
or you can just add water!
drink a big glass of water, unsweetened tea or any other low calorie beverage about 15 or 20 minutes before your meal.
or add fruits or veggies with a high water content (search google) to your meal or eat them shortly before that. (soup, salad...)
if you want to feel full BEFORE you ate, you need to consider that your body only tells you "i'm full, it's enough" about 20 minutes after you started eating, no matter how much or what you eat. reason: it takes time for the nutrients to reach your bloodstream - and that is what your brain measures: the sugar (energy) content in the blood. so of course, when you eat something with a lot of starch in it, the sugar takes longer to be released - you stay filled for quite a while. instead, when you eat / drink something with some kind of simple sugar (ice tea, candy...), it will be processed much faster and you are hungry again soon.
