I will be flying for the first time in over 10 years this weekend. I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that tells people what they can and cannot take aboard a plane. I have read reports that people cannot take liquids aboard planes. What about contact solutions, mouth wash, shampoo, toothpaste etc? I also have asthma can I take my inhaler aboard? Please any help will greatly be appreciated..

The TSA website has all you need to know.
For your inhaler, you need to bring it on the plane, would be bad if you do not.
But as it is medicines you need to bring a doctors declaration for it. (Ask you doctor, it is a standard letter or form.) It states that it is medication, that you need it. The brand name and chemical name of it.
Contact solution should fall under medical liquids but different people report different about that. Best bring a small container (under 3 oz,) and keep it with the other liquids in your zip-lock bag.
If you think you need more than the 3 oz, put it in your checked luggage.

If you put medicines in your checked luggage, put a copy of your doctors declaration with them.
All medicines should be in original packaging, with the brand name, the chemical name and if prescription, a label from your pharmacist with your name.
Also ask your doctor to write you a prescription for when you run out of medicines while not home, he will put info in it that the pharmacies where you go will be able to get you a good substitute even when your own medicines are not available.

The people who gave you the TSA website are correct. I would just add that those regulations are for US departures only; if you're flying internationally, other airports may have different restrictions. (For example, Frankfurt allows no liquids at all on the plane, even if purchased after going through security.)

check with the airline's website. most things now are acceptable. any liquids have to be under three oz. and in one ziploc bag. your inhaler is ok. but usually the airline's site is extremely helpful! but just also have common sense about it and it wont be too hard. good luck!

i work for an airline.you can actually bring liquids/gels on board so long as it wouldnt exceed 100ml/3.0oz and keep all of them in a transparent plastic bag.like a ziploc...you can also bring your inhaler onboard.
