Interesting question. Paul's was a sensational experience. But it wasn't as sudden as we might think. In a retelling of the event later in Acts, Paul gives us further detail about what Jesus said to him: "It is hard to kick against the goads." The Holy Spirit had been working on Paul for some time it would seem. What are the goads? We don't know, but we can surmise that they might include all those whom Paul arrested in Jersusalem and were willing to face prison, trial and execution for their faith in Christ Jesus. No matter...All who receive Christ Jesus' salvation are changed just as dramatically as Paul was. The change was on the inside which effected the outward expression of what was on the inside. All those born from above have that change...a change in thoughts, attitude, worldview, words and actions. Yes, it only comes by His mighty grace. It is a gift, without strings...we have to do nothing to be worthy of the gift because none are worthy of it and nothing we do can make us worthy.

I knew that I had changed. I didn't know at the time I was supposed to change. But I knew I felt different. Feeling different was news, and I wanted to share. I went to work the next day, and I told my boss I was a Christian. He told me I wasn't, and I guess from my actions before maybe he might have thought I wasn't. But I remember being a little confused, as to why he would know I wasn't one.
It still took a few months for me to tell the person who gave me the Bible that got me saved that I was. I was a little embarassed about having to tell him that I wasn't a Christian before, since before I had told him I was. Now I know what a joy it is to hear another person has gotten saved, so I wouldn't delay like I did. Definitely a whole new life, a whole new set of values and beliefs, and awarenesses. Which cannot truly be explained to someone who hasn't experienced it.

I had an extremely similar experience in my bedroom - I had been listening to "The Holiness of God" by R.C. Sproul and was overwhelmed by my sinfulness. After listening to the message, I saw in front of me a figure in white absolutely surrounded and covered in light. Let's just say, I then understood what Christ was about and I believed at that moment.

I did. Someone was saying something to me about Jesus (on the phone) and it was like a light bulb went on in my head. I really physically felt a heavy weight come off of my back. My life has never been the same. Praise the Lord!

I have not had that, and i'm thinking most probably never will.
paul was heavily consumed with killing christians when Christ met him on the road. He changed totally, and humbly.
I think most have a quiet still voice telling them that they can trust Jesus to save them.

None had the experience Paul described. Paul did not even have that experience, he made it up because he had an agenda just like all the rest of them have.
