Do you ever get emotional when you think of what Jesus went through for us? The torture and humiliation! And He even thought he was so alone that His own father had forsaken Him.

At times I can't stand the thought and cry for hours for what He went through for ME a sinner.
What a slap in the face to Him if we don't receive the blood that He shed for us. How it must hurt.

I will spend the rest of my life spreading HIS word and being forever thankful to our Lord Jesus.

Amen! I too have grieved at the thought of His torturous death! However, I was writing a scriptural play a couple years ago and I just burst out into tears. Why? Because Jesus's LOVE was greater than any pain they bestowed upon HIM. Every drop of His royal blood fell in the guise of pure love!

I have never and will never experience such love from a common human! It is something that only comes from God as it is PURE!

There is a Baptist Camp outside of Santa Fe, NewMexico that I dearly love.

Visiting Santa Fe on one of my Mission retreats - I slipped into a centuries old Catholic Mission that was under renovation to see the historic church.

I slipped along the side wall over to the candle alcove. I wanted to get a better look at the guilded altar... and was stopped dead in my tracks by a life sized sculpture of the Christ on the Cross on the wall above the raft of votives.

The body was ripped and torn, the thorns were driven into the flesh, the blood and tears ran down the face and the eyes - turned heavenward held such anguish. All I could do was sit down in shock and stare.

The image shook me - even to this day.

I've never seen Gibson's "Passion" because I didn't believe I could watch an animated body endure the wounds I saw on that statue.

His love is so great - that I do not weep at the thought of the crucifixtion... but instead the ressurection.

Ancient Jewish tradition holds that at the dinner table - if the Master of the house folded his napkin when he left the table - it was a signal to the servants that he was going to return.
If he crumpled the napkin, he was finished, the family meal was completed - and the servants could then clear the table.

The napkin over Christ's face in the tomb was found =folded=
not crumpled. As were the burial cloths.

I weep because His love conquered the grave for me - and He is returning for me!

Peace.

Amen.

I know what Jesus did and hate reading and going through detail of what happened to Him,
And I could not watch "The Passion of Christ".
And yes I cry about the 40 minus 1 stripes He took for our whole healths being, the other cruelty He took and then the Cross.
Thank You, Jesus our Lord and Redeemer.

Yep. A few months ago, I was in Jerusalem and was able to visit Caiphas' house. I saw the hole in the ceiling where Jesus was most likely dropped into the dungeon awaiting his fate. When I saw how far he fell, I bawled and bawled. I had a hard time stopping.

Yes, when I am in deep prayer and meditation of His Word. It is true that He had already done that sacrifice for the salvation of mankind yet many people still don't believe in Him...
Continue to be a living witness of His kindness and mercy...

Well actually no. I have never found guilt to be an effective spiritual tool for me. To each their own. I do find his examples of loving others unconditionally to be powerfully inspiring.

Praise God that He did. That is why I try so hard to do the best that I can to strive for that perfection. The Bible speaks about us being that living sacrifice. Love you!!

its great that you came to this realization. but remember that he has taken sinners and made them saints. don't forget that because of his work on the cross he is changing you to become more and more like himself. Remember that in Christ God sees you as perfect. See yourself how god sees you, perfect. that's why he came and shed his blood so that we might be holy before him.
