I just had a cavity filled and I'm wondering how long do I have to wait before I can eat? It's been about 4 hours already. I really want to eat this bag of hot cheetios in front of me but will it mess up my filling? Help!

Depends on a couple of things.. Still numb? If so wait until you are un-numb so you dont bite your check, etc. Some people are unaware of how hard they bite down when there cheeks are numb :) Also how big was the filling? If it was really big just be a bit careful - although you said its been 4 hours, so you should be fine to eat, just watch what you eat (nothing chewy) and try if at all possible to just eat on the other side of your mouth for the rest of the day.

After having a cavity filled you should wait until an hour before biting or chewing on that side where you got it filled. Since, its been 4 hrs you should be able to eat now...

notwithstanding if this is a bonded resin filling( a tooth colored composite), this is thoroughly set whilst this is cured via the curing gentle(approximately 30 seconds, reckoning on the fabric and the gentle). another components have an prolonged putting time. If the fix is cemented, this is safer to attend 30-40 minutes to insure an entire putting of the dental cement. whenever you have a tooth crammed, ask your dentist what become used and how long you are able to desire to attend to eat--oftentimes the proscribing component is the dimensions of the anesthetic. solid question!

You should be okay after 4 hours. Give it a try , but go easy at first to see how it feels.

When the numbness from the novocaine wears off, you're set.
