No, what the hell is wrong with you. If you didn't want anything active running around your house the last thing you should have gotten was a PUPPY!
You can't just expect it to want to sleep because you exercised it for an hour. Imagine playing with a kid for an hour a day and thinking that you're gonna get a full night's rest from it.
Common, this is just pathetic. Don't medicate your dog because you made a bad decision. Live it out just like all the normal people have to do.

Dogs, esp Puppies, are hyper. It almost like having a child. You should have thought of this before you invested in a pet. I say investment because that's you have to invest time, money and love into being a good pet owner. I'm not saying that I'm the best pet owner ever, but I knew it wasn't going to be easy at first.
Puppies also need to use the bathroom alot. Are you taking her out enough? Getting up 2-3 times a night isn't unheard of when potty training.
I will give you this bit of advice. Dr. Fosters and Smith has a couple of products that may help. They are worth a shot.

Please do not give your puppy anything to make her sleep. The only thing you can do is up the exercise regime. if you don't have time to go out for another walk, try playing some games inside the house with her. Training her is another good way to tire her out. Teaching your puppy new tricks and keeping her mind active can be just as tiring as a good walk sometimes and you'll end up with a dog that knows a lot of great tricks!!

Check with you vet . My Coon hound has allergies and takes 100mg benadryl 3 times a day, and she's sleepy most the day. Researchers have found dogs metabolize benadryl very rapidly and can take large doses. If your doctor ok's it you will have a sleepy puppy with no lasting effects Benadryl is what they use in nursing homes to help the older people sleep

I don't think that you should give your puppy anything, at least not in terms of a sedative. Try calming the environment around her, shut off the tv, maybe some calming music...After all, it works for humans, why shouldn't it work for puppies!?

She just wants to play. Roll a ball or something that she keeps wanting to do and that will wear her out and she will go to sleep. Then turn out the lights. Never give her drugs unless a vet gives you a prescription.

Camomile Tea, a couple of teaspoons or more at night or when you want the dog to start getting ready for bed time. It works on humans, and dogs. My mother used to give it me to help me sleep when I was a kid, and it works. Best of all, its natural, and its cheaper than prescribed drugs.

I have a 9 month old pit bull, and he is very hyper also. I put him in his kennel at night and place a blanket over it. It really works for my baby, so you may want to try that.
