I read my bible every night/day and I talk to God throughout the day. I attend church reguarly and I'm in the church choir. I just wen to bible study and prayer meeting on this Wenesday; really anything that goes on at church I'm there. I want to have strong faith and trust in God, but how? I suffer with anxiety/depression on and off, but last year it took a big hit on my life and Satan had me down and out. I really wasn't attending church or doing anything, but sitting at home on Sundays. I was letting the depression take control of my life and it was winning, until I decided that I had to take control of my life; with God included. I gave my life unto the Lord on last month during VBS that was at my church and since than I've been a better person because God was in my life. I didn't have anymore depression attacks since than; that was about 3-4 weeks of depression free attacks.

I went down the wrong road about 2 weeks ago and I repented unto the Lord and he forgave me. Since than, I've been happy and free from depression and let go. I've been depressed free for about 2 weeks and I feel great. I just want you to continue to pray for me to stay on the right road with the Lord and help me to build up my faith and trust.

If you are in a relationship with Jesus, that is talking to him and listening to him by studying His Word, you are going to grow!
Leave the past behind. Although Satan tries to remind you of your past, the bible says that God does not remember your sins.
Having fellowship is important but it should never take the place of a personal relationship. Spend more time in private with God than you do in public, church and bible study.

Faith and trust take a long time to mature in us as Christians. Continue to do what you are doing- reading your Bible, praying, attending church. Continue to participate in the things going on at church. Get involved in Bible studies with other Christians, and listen to some good teaching tapes/CDs that your pastor can recommend. Remember not to go by your feelings. Feelings are transient. One day you will feel good, and think all is right with your faith, the next you'll be depressed, and think you're far from God. Recognize that we are emotional creatures, and feelings change everyday. That is why you must base your faith on the Word of God, and what the Bible says, rather than how you are feeling at the moment. If you do this, you will most certainly build a strong faith.

You say that you are a better person but really, we are all sinners. Some are lost sinners and some are saved sinners. We still have a sin-nature until we leave this earth. No one is any better than anyone else. The ground is level at the cross of Jesus. He wants all people to come to Him. He knows that some will reject Him and yet He still chose to die for their sins.
As far as building faith in God, let Him build your faith. Let Him teach you from His Word. Don't ever feel like you have arrived. Do you think that what is contained in the Bible is all there is to know about God? I hope not. Look around and see that nature testifies of Him. He wants what is best for you so leave the past behind. Don't worry about your former depressions. Seek Him with all your heart and you will truly find Him in the deepest sense of the word.

I've never had this happen before. Not to get weird, but I read through the list of questions and decided not answer any more. I read your title but figured someone else would say something helpful. So, I went to log-off and had exited Answers but I couldn't get your question out of my mind. I kept feeling like I should say something to you. I have no idea what to say but I'll put something up:
Faith is founded on knowledge. Knowledge is founded on evidence.
I promise reading this talk will help: http://www.lds.org/portal/site/LDSOrg/menuitem.b12f9d18fae655bb69095bd3e44916a0/?vgnextoid=f318118dd536c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD&locale=0&sourceId=45588fbe352fe010VgnVCM100000176f620a____&hideNav=1
Heavenly Father loves you very much. I know it to be true. Search for truth with an open mind and never give up. Do not search for a church which teaches what you believe but, instead, search for a church that teaches truth.
You are a child of God.
A couple more links. Please read what I've given, even if they're long. I promise you will understand something better when you're done than you did before. I don't know what though.

Faith and trust in God is not a one way. Faith and more so trust does not come easy to us. To believe in someone that we can not see is not sensible.
There are many verses in the bible that talks about faith and trusting in God. Reading them will help.
Anxiety/depression are medical terms that need to be address by a physician.
Answer: Let God and see a doctor.

Stay in the Word of God. Don't let problems get the best. Many people don't realize that God does not expect us to get saved today and it is all complete today as well. It is a growing process. That is apart of why Christ also came, to show us that it is a life-long thing not just a day. Stay in the Word of God, pray without ceasing, always be mindful of the scriptures. Let them be in your heart. God loves you, you know that but, so do I.

Chloe,
It sounds like you're on the right track.
Remember that even all the faith we have we wouldn't have if God had not given to us as a gift. If you would like more faith (and it's a good idea to want more faith!), ask for it! It sounds counterintuitive, but it's what God told us to do.
Ask Him for more faith, and the same for wisdom -- God gives wisdom and faith generously (among other things!) to those who ask!
I pray God will bless you this way every day, and also show you that He is doing so!

I think God knows your heart. I think he knows that you try and when you slack. Personally, I see him shining within you. I think you are aces. I haven't forgotten the time you took all your contacts out for cyber lunch. I thought it was pretty cool.
Building up faith and trust takes time and works with everyone a little differently. I think concentrating on the things that are right with your life will build that trust because you'll see Him in what you do.

Praise The Lord Chloe! I am blessed to hear your testimony!
Our testimonies are LIFE! I will pray continually for you. The
bible says to ask in Jesus name and he will do it! Ask Jesus
to give you the faith of a mustard seed and he will. Remember Abraham? He was called the father of our faith.
The bible says that a good man falls seven times and gets up
again. The apostle Paul tells us not to think it strange when
things happen to us. The DEVIL is always testing us, just waiting for us to fall so that he can mock GOD and us.
Be strong in JESUS name, AMEN.

How can I build up my faith and trust with God?
By practicing what his Word teaches in how to live your life. You grow in faith when you do what the Bible says and weather the storms and see how God is faithful to watch over his Word to perform it.
Jeremiah 1:12 Then the LORD said to me, "You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it."
Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. 6 He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.
7 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
