that we worship satan when we dont even believe in it
that we sacrifice virgins/babies etc
that we are all 13 years olds and giggle whilst wearing gothic clothing
that all witches are wiccans
that we do magic tricks as seen on tv
that we curse people
that we are old wrinkled and nasty
that we do not exist!
that we just need to be witnessed to and all our 'evil' ways will fall from us, when in fact we are already very moral and very decent human beings
that we cannot have any morals
all deeds are from negative motivation
that we dance naked and have orgies every night and are all rampant lesbians (yes i have been told that by a nutter!)
why do people insist on believing the Grimm bothers drivel as reality?!
if only they would even try to ask decent questions, and be more open to reality, they would soon know the truth

Many ignorant people, and I'm not attacking them, I mean ignorant of the practice, think that if you are a witch you worship Satan. They think you're evil and that you want to harm other people; they also think witches make animal or human sacrifices, you know, kind of dancing naked under the moonlight covered in blood and stuff. It's a pity they don't know that there's nothing like the devil, that one of the most important rules is not to hurt anyone, including ourselves and that no sacrifices, at least such as those, are made.

I think there are several misconceptions about us.
1. We worship Satan.
2. We're all a bunch of sex-addicts and have orgies every chance we get.
3. That we can just randomly curse people to prove our "powers".
4. That we make sacrifices (animals, babies, etc.)
5. That we all secretly wish we were christian and/or know that what we're doing is "evil."
6. We all wear black clothes and dress "goth".
7. That we're all a bunch of teenagers who only practice witchcraft for attention.
8. We just want to be like the ones we see in movies (Charmed, The Craft)
9. We worship Satan.
It's all a bunch of crap that if they took even five minutes to look up what we REALLY believe, they would know that all of the above is untrue and they would realize how stupid they sound saying it.

I concur with ALL the others but there IS one that seems to have been missed.
That Witches are FEMALE and MALE Witches are called WARLOCKS. A Witch is a Witch, Male or Female. A warlock was a person who named others during the burning times so, WARLOCK is akin to calling someone a NARC in today's language. We have the TV show, "Bewitched" to thank for that stupid idea.

Well, I had quite a few misconceptions before you gave me the information about what you believe. I think that communication without confrontation is the best way to avoid miscommunication. I will say this, you guys get all the good songs "black magic woman" "witchy woman" etc, while us doggone atheists don't get anything cool.

I think that you all covered it. That we worship satan/devil. We dont believe in him. I dont fly around on a broom, tried, didnt work-hahaha. No human sacrifies or animal. We love all! We dont perform orgies under the moonlight but love to love. We are very loving and caring people! We accept and acknowdge all people and faiths. We dont try to be like the characters on Charmed or the Craft. We are adults! We are are practicing a real religion. We do believe in a higher power. And it is not the devil-he doesnt exist.

Its the whole summoning the devil thing. Thats the reason we are hated. We in league with Satan......pbft I don't beleive Satan is real

That we do blood sacrifices ie: children and animals, that we are vampires, that we worship satan, that we hate the bible and Christians, that our souls need saving, that we make witches brew out of bats eyes and tongue of newt, that we are immoral and have no values, that we have wild orgies (?) and do psychotropic drugs..Oh Lady people are so so wrong. Witches and Pagans are the most wonderful, gentle,funny centered people i know..I wish people would open their eyes and their minds and see that..

I think that people tend to think that witches are evil and do evil things. I don't really know what witches are about and what they do, so i guess i cant make a fair easement. have a good one.
