In India sneezing is considered an omen of badluck 'nd O yes, COLD!! The funny thing is many different people sneeze in various ways.. A lady would sneeze like 'achum'..instantly dissolving her sneeze into her lace hankerchief.. an office clerk would sneeze like 'aachooo' on a normal day and 'AAAchOOOn' 'aAAchooo oooo'if he has sympathetic audience....... while my favourite is the village simpleton who sneezes regardless of anyone ..in his own tune as if his nose is allowing the sneezes to escape freely....he goes.. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAcccccccHHHHHHHHH... HHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... ..once more..then repeat!!!!!!

hv a nice day

I'm in the USA. I say "God Bless You."

Unless it is my brother.........
He has these HUGE sneezes so it's a joke in my family, and when he sneezes, I act like he blew me clear across the room, and then I say, "Gezhundheit." Only, since I'm a Hillbilly (from West Virginia) I don't pronounce it the correct German way. I say it like "Ga-zen-tite"

My family says Gesundheit (German for 'health'), but most people say 'bless you' or 'God bless you,' a carryover from the time when people thought sneezing was related to the Devil.

I honestly don't know why - I'm of Latvian and Lithuanian ancestry.

I say bless you because when some one sneeze he or she
lets out some of her soul , so it is said like that.

If once sneezed bad sign. if twice sneezed continuously good sign. if 3rd time sneezed we ask to take medicine for cold.

I am in Canada. I say 'bless you'. I've heard that when you sneeze your heart stops momentarily so the 'bless you' is in hopes it will start again.
