I want a CD burner and I want to know how much it cost and where I can get one and how to install it. Thank you.

1. I got a CD / DVD burner off of eBay. It cost me about $25, American. You can also find some for sale in Wal-Mart.

2. You will likely want to use it to replace your existing CD-ROM drive. To do this, remove the cover from your PC, unscrew the screws that hold the CD-ROM drive in, unhook the cables, and pull it out the front (like a car stereo). Look at the jumper in the back. It's position indicates that it is either Slave or Master. This setting should be the same on the new drive. Set the jumper on the new drive. Reverse the steps used to remove the old one, and restart your computer. Windows will detect it if you have it set up correctly. Open the drive and insert the software CD that came with it, if it did. Use this to install any burning software.

You probably have an older computer, so make sure the new drive you buy says "IDE" or "EIDE", and not "SATA".
