they actually tend to yellow over time, especially when done as a stand alone color. if you don't want something to last then you should not get a tattoo.

I like color tattoos much more than just black and white. Red fades fast. But all colors will fade over time but after you shower or bath always put lotion on them and that will help the color last longer. You will have to have touch up work done some time as well.

Any tattoo will fade if not properly cared for. Even the darkest black will fade. White will become lighter as the years progress, but if you're going to invest the time and money into getting a tattoo, take some free advice:

Get something that has meaning to you. Don't go into a parlor and pick some "flash" off the wall. Those tattoos have no special meaning to you; no story comes with them. Design your own or find artwork that really bears some significance in your life. This way, when you're 80 years old, you'll still be proud to display your wrinkled up tat and tell your grand-kids about it.

My advice would be not to get one in the first place. There was an answer where the person said " yea the sun will fade it yellow fades faster but will leave a scar? " If you follow advice like that...How will there be a scar? Some people...Don't get one in less you are going to be proud of it and show it off. Some times you can't get a job because of them. Think hard about it...And to answer your question NO the do not fade away. The ink will stay permanently under your skin. Unless you have Lazar treatment.

first of all, tats of all colors fade. white is mostly used to lighten colors up (mixed with other colors).i have part of a tatdone in white (very small part ) and its still there however never used white again , just go with skin in that area. and fornot wanting it later, thats anindication to not get one . Tats are for life and they don't go away unless you lazer them.

honestly all tats fade if they are taken care of in the sun, but i have noticed my tats with light colors in them have faded some over the years, so you might want to pick a darker color.
hope this helps some

big eyes is right, some place wont give you a job depending on where you have it n what it is......but the other side to that coin is that they do have tat coverings now, but that could get costly...so its a toss up.....and you should always get a tat thats "you" something that in a few yrs you wont be like damn what was i thinking...lol
