As for Einstein, what you say is true, but he was not an atheist. He was a spinozan pantheist.

As for the rest, they are entitled to their opinion, and so are you.

The quotations speak for themselves. They are public expressions of these notable individuals’ beliefs. The replies finding fault with them are typical of religious zealots’ stand on such matters.

I think a good analogy of their stand on matters such as this is the ongoing debate concerning evolution versus Intelligent Design; one being science and the other a religious belief. The ID individual says there are too many gaps in the evolutionary chain; thus God designed everything. There is not enough evidence on the planet to convince them otherwise; thus it is best not to put too much credence on the zealots’ disputing comments because the non-believer is automatically always wrong.

2) sounds like wild-eyed preaching or totalitarian propaganda

3) we've had more than a whiff and a dose and people are still coming to this section to ask questions

4) regarding attributes, sure; doesn't disprove existence, does prove human desire & faith

5) what exactly "was, of course, a lie"

6) if one's faith and the texts it is based on don't claim scientific validity, then this quote does not support or undermine them. does one ascertain humidity in the atmosphere with a tape measure?

I know who two of the five people who quoting, why should I care about anything they say about God? I know God is real, I know he died for me. You do realize that your wasting trying to convince Christian that our God isn't real.

I think they are quotes that you would expect to see from non-believers. Are they supposed to shock me or damage my faith? If so you have failed.
