When my mom was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and was told that she could prolong her life by six months to a year with heavy chemo/radiation/etc... or that she would be dead in less than six months, she chose to forgo treatment and put it in God's hands. To help herself stay positive, she spent a lot of time in prayer and listening to Christian music. She also spent a lot of time with my father and for the first time, she traveled with him to meetings and events he attended all over the country. She also went out of her way to mend relationships with her family including an estranged sister. My mother passed away in 1998 and we all felt blessed that she had lived more than a year longer than anyone (including her doctors) thought possible AND during that time, she was basically healthy (some pain and weakness from time to time) and active. Near the end of her life, I remember her telling me that the previous 18 months had been the best time of her life.
...and to perhaps give you hope, I personally know a person that was healed of a malignant brain tumor. Not everyone gets the miracle of healing but many get lesser miracles (like my mom).

I have not been diagnosed with a terminal illness, however I have had a chronic disease, that causes pain every day of my life- for all but 12 years of my now 49. Since I gave my life to Jesus at 17 years old, I have had some very bad days, however with Christ, He has taught me that in the midst of the pain I can have peace. That does not mean I always have to be "positive". David wasn't- have you read Psalms lately, however, I pray, like David I can still praise God in the midst of the days that I am not positive about my disease.

when my stepmother was diagnosed with the most deadliest of cancers, she read books about beating cancer and stayed positive. She prayed to God and reminded herself that there was not an expiration date on our bodies and that people who mark their calendars with the date they are expected to live to die by that date, but ones who disregard how long they have left live longer than that and possibly beat their illness.
Of course, the cancer she had wasn't beatable and she passed away in April after being diagnosed a year before. But if the cancer had been beatable, she would have done it. She had faith and hope and friends and family that loved her.
I personally don't believe in prayer to heal someone, but I think it is something that is comforting to do, to feel that you are not alone. Prayer won't make you better, but it can help your state of mind.

Healing! but remember there are four kinds.
Lets count down.
#4 Purely medical aid with no outside influence. The worst.
#3 medical aid with the power of prayer. Better more so if the Dr. is Christian.
#2Divine healing just God. this is spectacular.
#1death is the best healing because all suffering is over and you are in heaven with Jesus.
In the mean time I am just waiting on the Lord.

Depression and worry can't happen if your Praising God.
God knew this and that is why He says through all your trials and storms to Praise Him.
**********************************************************************
Praise You in This Storm
I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.
Chorus:
And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away
Chorus
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
Chorus

First say - Dear Jesus - I repent of my sins - come into my heart - I make you my Lord and Savior. It's important to forgive yourself and others for everything. Lighten your load - then be relentless about your healing.
Play scriptures on healing 24/7. Get CD's from pastors who inspire you. Get their healing CD's. This may take a day - weeks or months. But during that time, ask yourself what you would you if you had a second lease on life.
Remember, God is listening.

Actually, I'd start looking forward to Heaven. I'd put my affairs in order, give stuff away, liquidize any assets I have left, then sit back and enjoy myself. I'd surround myself with friends and family as much as possible and travel as far and as long as my health permits. Sure, I'd be sad sometimes and I know I'll greive that my time on Earth was cut short. But I wouldn't dwell on it. I'd read my Bible more and spend time reflecting on it. I'd surround myself with beauty and love so that my last thoughts would be peaceful.

My mother died after 25 years of a horrible disease , nothing helped her, no amount of prayers helped her. She died in pain in the hospital. Prayers do not work, believe me !!!!
