We had a pug that this happened to, and although I don't remember how we resolved it, I would recommend calling an emergency vet clinic just to see if they think it is a problem, and if not, then Id call and tell my vet when they open that he has gotten even more swollen...as well as what the other person said about the collar, that's really important.

It is not uncommon for dogs to develop edema after neutering. My Rottie's scrotum looked larger that when he had testicles. And it took awhile before it became that little flap of skin. Did your Vet give you a time frame? If it is of any comfort, I have heard that human males suffer from swelling after a vasectomy, I would expect even more from actually removing the testicles.

For up to 2 weeks post surgery you need to keep excessive movement to a minimum (I know, it's next to impossible). I would make sure that tomorrow he's kept quiet. Meaning, no walk, no playing ball, no wrestling. If it gets too swollen he will need to be put on antibiotics and kept calm for longer . . . and if it gets toooo swollen, your vet will want to drain it and more antibiotics.
I would keep him quiet, soak a washcloth in cool (not cold) water and lay him down and put that on there.
If your vet saw him yesterday, you can probably wait until they reopen, but it the swelling gets bigger and it gets redder you are going to have to e-vet him (emergency vet).
So keep him quiet and calm, leash him for poos and pees. He gets rest rest rest and cool washcloth.

Some swelling is to be expected. Don't panic.
If it gets worse, becomes red, or if the sutures don't look healthy you may want to call your vet again. Don't let him romp in wet grass or dirt -- and keep him away from his incision.
I have a feeling everything will be okay.

I had the same thing happen this week with my schnoodle. He had actually opened up part of his incision. He now has antibiotics and an ointment and his e-collar back on.
