Hello to everyone i'm 24 years old and in love with dance, i have no formal dance training but considering some dance classes next year at a conservatory here in florida (i say next year because classes have already started) I really want to try ballet not to become a professional i realize i'm a little too old for that but i guess anything is possible. I know they offer adult classes but i wonder if the instructors think as adults we're foolish for trying to take up such a diffucult dance form so late in ballet years, do they even take adults seriously. This question is for anyone who knows what i'm talking about. Thanks you for your time

I think it's great that you want to do this. You should work on getting as flexible as possible and otherwise condition yourself physically. Feel the music and love what you're doing. Let yourself become inspired by other dancers.
In other words, go for it!

In any arts field the instructors will be as serious about the students as the students are about the material. Be honest with the teacher about your goals and level of commitment. If you work hard and practice or even make lessons fun, most teachers will be grateful to have you. The exception is teachers that have to prove something through their studio.

Go for it, you probably will never dance professionally, but you could have a lot of fun. And on the more jaded side, working in the arts is hard, every student (and their tuition) is more than welcome.

No you are not foolish. It never too late. I understand that Ballet help with gracefulness and help with co-ordination. Take it for your own enjoyment if nothing else. You may want to take a different class too like Tap or Jazz.

You can learn anything at any age! But as long as you know going pro is going to be a stretch since you are starting late in the game. Why not take lessons to just simply make you happy? Surely no one would judge you for that!!!!!!!!
