Do you actually know anyone that has gotton lead poisoning? Or do you think people are too cautious? Thanks

Lead poisoning can be acute or gradual. Many cases of lead poisoning prior to the 1980s was from leaded gas in the air (that is one reason why they removed lead from gas). This was a gradual case. Most of the lead poisoning found locally was because of solder used to connect pipes. Older homes were particularly a problem, but even homes only 10 years old were having problems. Now, you should have your tap water tested for lead and it might not hurt to use a filter for children.

Yes I actually do know someone that has had lead poisoning... My now 6 year old son. He was 3 at the time. He got it from our house. Lead was in the paint on the walls and in the dirt in our backyard. Thank god it is all out of his system now but is was dangerously high and had to go to the lead clinic to have blood work done for over a year to get it out of his body. Oh and we moved from that horrible house. It was all very scary.

My cousins 2 kids both ended up hospitalized from lead posioning. My cousin and her husband were repainting a house they moved into and the paint had lead in it and they didn't know and the kids were in the house with them. They breathed in some of the paint I guess and their lead levels were dangerously high.

my little brother had lead poisoning when he was about 12-18 mon. his lead levels were up to 19! he could have gotten brain damge but thank god he didn't ! you can't be too cautious when you're talking about your kids health

I dont know any one whos had lead poisoning but i know loons get it a lot. Especially like fifty years ago.

you mean by a pencil or something im pretty sure the dont use lead in pencils anymore.
