A lot of the virtuecrats are overweight; Jerry Falwell would have been in trouble had he ranted against gluttony. But the so-called seven deadly sins are a post-biblica construct, while the prohibition against homosexuality (and eating pork, eating shellfish, wearing clothing of mixed fabrics, planting more than one type of crop in a field, etc.) is found in the bible.
Another good question is why many folks who rant about the "sanctity of marriage" as an excuse for denying it to same-sex couples have been divorced at least once.

Christians don't want to ban gay marriages, there is no such thing as a legal gay marriage, and if there were already laws against lying, cheating, or committing adultery i would back them as well. Your main argument against Christianity is that we are hypocritical. For one thing you don't know all Christians, and second being a Christian is not about being perfect. We do try, but we are all human and we all sin. Christians aren't perfect but because of the blood Christ shed for those who believe in him we are forgiven. And why do all of you always seem like the most negative people on the face of the planet. The glass can be half full if you want to see it that way just in case you didn't know.

It is not possible to ban an act that is AGAINST THE LAW already!
It has nothing to do with whether it is a sin or not.
It's a LAW thing. Talk to your lawmakers. Leave the Christians alone.

True. So is lying, cheating, taking God's name is vane, not keeping the sabbath day holy, and adultry. But most people commit these sins too, so why not ban them as well?

Because being gay makes them sick. however, you can be an overweight loser who eats Jack And The Box everyday and they don't care. It is not about sin. It is about disgust.
