about 5 years ago, I started to fall into a really depressive episode. At first I thought it was only because I had a bad break from a relationship but the feelings wouldn't go away even after I got a new girlfriend. It was wrecking my life until a point where it was seriously affecting my work and personal life.
She was very worried but at the same time couldn't understand why I was still sad and thought that I still couldn't let go of my previous relationship. Being the wonderful person that she is, she put aside her feelings and suggested I go for psychiatric evaluation. Many months later and even more anti-depressants, I was not coming close to being better at all.
After doing some research online, I found out the real cause as you described it really makes a lot of sense and purchased this program. The results were simply astonishing. I read this book over three times and put all words in action. Using this method, I've kept my depression at bay ever since. Up to date I'm still living happily with my girlfriend.
Depression Free Method?

do you really know why you have depression, i mean the real root of the depression?? if not, dude, get off the meds and then you will be able to think better and understand your depression better. meds are not always the answer, especially if you havent found the root of your problem, the real root. once you find the root, then you can start to fix it. i do have major depression and do not take meds, really hate them, but i know why i get depressed and how not to and what to do when i feel like i am. i know how to control it and live with it. but let me tell you, its not easy to get to the point where i am at. it was hard and still is hard for me time to time. i do suggest you go see a psychologist (which by the sound of it you are seeing a psychiatrist not psychologist). the psychologist actually just talks to you and picks your brain, the psychiatrist just want to put you on meds!! so please go see another dr (a psychologist or social worker at a local mental health clinic) and get the help you need. if you feel like after a couple months or more that you need meds, then go ahead and get back on them, but remember meds are totally up to you and you only. if you dont want them dont take them if you want to stop them, then stop them (of course stop them like the dr says to though, cause some might have serious side effects if you just stop cold turkey!!). so good luck and hope this info helps you out

There is always hope, regardless of whether we feel it or not.
My sister and I have had episodes of depression and we do different things to combat it. She watches Comedy Central and avoids sad or depressing things on TV. I read - the act of reading calms me down and helps me feel better. We both take meds but different kinds.
I was on AD meds for 20 years before I found one that worked. I had come to the conclusion that all they did was make me gain weight. But my doc and I decided to try one med after
another and hallelujah, I found the right one.
There is real help, but not all doctors are created equal. The one who helped me the most (and in the quickest time!) was a county social worker who believed in cognitive-behavioral therapy. She taught me stuff th at I never knew.
Once I asked her "Is there any hope for me?" She said: "I always want to slap people who ask me that." That may sound awful, but there was hope in her answer (and also, she had heard the same question from many other people - so I was not unique and doomed).
She made me know I could play a part in my own recovery (in fact, I HAD to). Just knowing recovery was possible was enough for me.
So find a good therapist. Hourly rates are not a good indicator - trust me! Find someone who will speak to you honestly and matter-of-factly.
We can to some extent change our reality.
Good luck.

I feel ya! I often feel so hopeless I can barely pull myself up to go to the bathroom. If I want to have any hope for a half normal life the thing I do is I FORCE myself to run a mile or two and I am good for two days. I know that sounds crazy but I really think getting the blood flowing and getting some o2 to the brain really helps. Those nasty depression toxins are building up in the system. It really sucks to think that we have to fight this our entire life but it is something that can be done. Just find a small step to deal and it becomes easier. Your not alone my friend.

What meds are you taking? If you're seeing a shrink they tend to over medicate. You're not getting the right kind of help. Maybe you should see another doctor. Depression and mental illness run in my family.
