Do you honestly believe Sodom and Gomorrah was only about homosexuals? Regardless, the Christians who say it's okay are clearly listening to the parts about loving your neighbor and not judging people "lest ye be judged". They may also have family members and/or friends that are gay and have realized the bigotry and ignorance we have to deal with.

thank you for proving that there is such a thing as a good christian. r&s was making me doubt.

as i've said before, honey, the human race has had over 2000 years of advancement since that book was written. some of us understand the world a little better now, good christians included.

here's a question for you: if sodom and gomorrah were full of nothing but gay men, how did they sustain their population?

oh, never mind, i forgot. gays recruit. just like fundies.

I can't speak for them, but maybe they are realizing that people don't choose to be gay, something the authors of the bible didn't realize. Maybe it falls under acceptance of your fellow humans.

And my understanding of Sodom and Gomorrah is not that the people were sinners, but that they tried to force their sin on the virtuous.

i don't!..sin is sin. era. that is purely that society has made some sins undesirable, and a few untouchable. that's the adaptation. not basically the church, all of society. Abortion is criminal...that dosen't make it 'suited'! that is what happens while society desperate to regulate the bible in accordance to what they 'wanted' to do, quite of changing the society in accordance to scriptural mandates. *by ways, the scientific community could little doubt prefer to talk to you...you insinuated homosexuals can now reproduce???perhaps it replaced into purely your wording!...(phew!)

Any Christian who reads the Bible and accepts what is says knows that homosexuality is a sin. Unfortunately in this politically correct world churches have caved in. I believe we are in the period of the great falling away. People are leaving the true faith for false doctrines.

1Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Also many who claim to be Christians are not. This is made clear by the verse below.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

While we are not to judge it states we will know others by their fruits. A church that preaches doctrine that is not found in the Bible has spoiled fruit.

The Bible also says not to commit adultery, not to kill, not to covet, not to steal, not to lie, but I don't see Christians getting all bent out of shape over these topics. The Bible says women shouldn't cut their hair, and that married couples should not get divorced, but I know plenty of divorced Christians with short hair. The Bible says many things. Why harp on this one thing?

There are many sins in the bible...It is not OK to be alot of things, But, We are called to love our brothers first.....I think that the Bible points out that without Grace, none of us would survive.

So the question needs to be asked, Is my sin greater than your sin..is homosexuality worse than coveting or taking the lords name in vain...see my point......WE are supposed to Love and God will do the judging of each one of our hearts.

Funny how you only pointed out one 'sin'.

What about all the others. Care to ask the same question about lying?

All have sinned. Just wondering which one you're guilty of??

this is one of those where I say I have never heard a "true Christian" say it was OK to be gay, but we are also forbidden to judge those that are outside of the church, we are to love them and reach out to them. 1 Corinthians 5:12

Well the Bible says a lot of things... you know. Kill witches, don't eat meat on Friday, don't do anything on Saturday, and a lot of stuff a bit worse than that. So what you're telling me is that you can ignore all the horrible stuff the Bible tells you to do, but you DO have to hate people who were born gay?
