No. Try Canidae!

Not at all a good food.. NOTHING from the Grocery store, or Walmart is good to feed your dog. Try Canidae or Wellness.. Purina is not good for anything except throwing a bag in your trunk in the winter. Helps for better traction on the ice and snow.

First off dogs should not be fed ANY dog food that contains grain or vegetables. Purina contains ingredients that are known to cause cancer. Dogs are carnivores, and are built to eat meat. Dogs have been eating dog food for only 150 years, but have been eating meat for thousands! Do some research to find out what dog food is made of, how UNregulated it is, and your stomach will turn.

The reason a vet thinks your dog would thrive on dog food is because vets receive little education on dog nutrition, and many times the "nutritionist" who comes to train them, works for a dog food company. Vets are also encouraged to sell dog food in their offices.

Purina is not the best... but it is not the worst, either. The difference between dog foods is not the quality of the individual ingredients, but the amount or type of ingredients.

Some Purina Pro brands are pretty good. However, I had a German shepherd who lived for 17 years off of plain Purina dog food.

NO. Get Science Diet...it is like a dollar more but 10000x better than purina. I am 15 years old and my parents got a poodle 4 years before I was born...it just recently died last year at 19 years old. Her whole life she ate Science Diet with table scraps as treats (mind you the scraps were unseasoned all white-meat chicken) every now and then. Anyway If you want your puppy to live a long life get Science Diet. Hope I helped!

Any dog food you ask about on here is going to get mixed reviews. some people will say it's great...and some people will say it's crap...and some people will say whatever company it is tortures animals in experiments.

So....don't buy anything that has ash as an ingredient, and you're pretty safe. Usually the brands are better...science diet, iams, etc. Don't buy the crap from the grocery store...you know...the really cheap stuff that has a picture of a healthy puppy being cute on the front.

Dogs are actually omnivorous...so don't worry about the first product being a vegetable. Don't believe me? Try feeding your dog green beans or another healthy vegetable.

if you're worried about animal experimentation, look at peta.org.

I think Purina is okay.

No, it isn't. I would try a food with a lot of meats and few grains. I, personally, feed no grains. I like Orijen and Nature's Variety. For more info on picking a good food or finding a good food for your dog, check out the below links.

YES. I love my MinPin, Coton and Shepherd and trust Purina Pro Plan. ..a top of the line dog food. Cannot be purchased at WalMart or grocery stores. Not cheap ... but real meat is used. I feed half dry Lamb and rice and half dry Salmon. Many friends have converted to this product upon my recommendation and tell me how amazed they are at the difference in the shine of the coat and how there is less throwing up.

ya, not a very good food choice for your dog..i would suggest trying something that you can't get from target, or walmart or petsmart or petco, go to one of your local pet shops, that is most likely privately owned and they usually have better quality food. i feed my dog Nature's Variety, but i know Wysong is great too, and some of the other brands i saw some people mention are great as well..
