Greek & Roman, or Jewish Mythology. Why would it be placed in that section and not the other?

Christians, please don't report this question. I didn't say that it was mythology (I know how that upsets some of you and makes your mouse itchy around the report button). I said IF it were... this is a hypothetical question. If you don't like it, please, just don't answer. Violators will be blocked and reported. You've been warned.

Seeing as how it started out as a sect of Judaism, I would venture to guess it would be put with Jewish mysticism.

The problem with Greek is that is doesn't fit in that pantheon. The problem with Roman is that was only one church of many. Granted, it grew to be the largest, but it was never considered (until Constantine) the most important. Seeing as how Christianity replaced, rather than enhanced, both Greek and Roman, I would have to rule them out as possibilities.

In some places it is already there, with the rest of the cultural mythology. but to be even more serious. Since most of the scriptures are based mostly in the middle east. It seems middle eastern philosophy.

All of the above,
personally I think the world would
be better off without religion.
This is just my thoughts.
P.S I love your saying about the
itchy feeling around the report button.
I'm still laughing. :- )

If the choices are Greek, Roman or Jewish. it would have to be Jewish I think. the Greeks found it interesting but not as interesting as the Gnostics of their time...they were much more fun. the Romans only found them to be a bother as anyone who pissed off the Jews or threatened temple life were problematic to the Romans.
The romans also thought the early Christians were a spin off of the Jews so they wouldn't think of them as mythical.
I would have to say the Jews because they didn't believe anything Christ said and felt he was crazy and making things up. they thought he was living the prophesies to make a name for himself.

It would be labelled "Christian Mythology" as a sub-category of "Jewish Mythology".

That labeling is not going to happen. Christianity bases on something that happened in history. You cannot change history.

Since Christianity adopted a lot from paganism, and that was the religion of the romans , I would say greek and roman .
